i'm not sure which one i like more.... I wish that i would have used a longer exposure and smaller aperture, 30 minutes didnt give very long star trails, but next time I think i'll be sure to get what i want.

did you hit the shutter button right before daybreak and release it afterwards?
im trying to figure out how it looks like daylight, but you still captured the stars without the rising sun (if thats the case) interferring with the shot.

as for the really long exposure, i used a 35mm film camera, with the shutter speed on "Bulb" with an exposure as long as i needed with a shutter release cable to lock the button down. its on my home scanner, so the quality kind of sucks, but oh well.

Nice shot! =) Was it taken near dawn or dusk? Even for my hour long star trail shots, the sky stays pretty dark.

it was shot at 11 PM i beleive, i forget what aperture i used. i'll have to check yours out :D

they're the stars, it was a 30 minute long exposure. at night of course.
